A word search for a parent or grandparent

You install the game, they play it. Five minutes of setup so that it is readable and simple from the first grid.

Scrutix was made for people who see less well up close and whose fingers are less precise. Here is how to set it up on the phone of someone you love.

Install it

Scrutix is free on Google Play, for Android 7.0 and later. There is no account to create and no password to remember.

Choose the text size together

On the home screen, tap Text size. Each size is written at its own size: ask which one is comfortable. The grid grows with it. You do not need to change the font size of the whole phone.

Check the word language

Word language on the home screen chooses the language of the hidden words. It follows the phone at first. If the phone is set to one language and the person reads another, change it here.

Show the two ways to select

A word is selected by dragging from its first to its last letter, or by tapping the first letter, then the last. Show both. Many people prefer the two taps. A wrong selection just disappears, with no error sound.

What they will see

No timer, no score and nothing to lose. A banner ad stays at the bottom of the screen, apart from the grid. Now and then, a full-screen ad comes between two grids, never during one. One purchase in Settings, Remove ads, removes them all.
